Redington has today announced its certification as a B Corp – the first UK investment consultant to be awarded the accreditation.
B Corp is the only certification which measures a company’s entire social and environmental impact. To date, more than 5,000 companies have been awarded B Corp status, with each forming part of a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy – and using business as a force for good.
In order to obtain certification, companies must undergo a rigorous assessment to demonstrate social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency of the highest standard.
The news reflects Redington’s ongoing commitment to integrating sustainability and stewardship across its entire business – whether that be through net-zero investment advice, integrating ESG and stewardship factors into manager assessments or being a Living Wage employer, all of which contribute to its core goal of helping to make 100 million people financially secure – for the benefit of people and the planet.
Sylvia Pozezanac, CEO of Redington, commented: “Purpose beyond profit was central to Redington’s creation and continues to be a core driver of who we are today. Our leadership team and our Board are committed to ensuring that environmental and social factors form part of every decision we make as a business – both internally and in all our engagements with clients, communities and peers.
“The B Corp certification isn’t just about us, it’s about the community of organisations around the world who have committed to shaking things up and using business as a force for good. All of us at Redington are excited by this journey to engage with them, learn together and inspire others to consider their own impact on people and the planet.”
Lee Georgs, COO of Redington, commented: “As a business, we are all immensely proud of the progress we have made in delivering on our central purpose – from the net-zero investment advice we offer to our clients, right through to creating inclusive work environments and offsetting our historic and future carbon emissions.
“Becoming a B Corp is an important way for us to drive global and collective action – and we’re excited by the opportunity this presents. We will continue to challenge ourselves and the industry to do more to use business as a force for good – for people and planet.”
