Redington has appointed Hugh Lenon as Chairman of its Board. His appointment is effective 1 April 2023, subject to FCA approval.
Lenon brings over 30 years of industry experience to the role and is currently part-time Chairman at Phoenix Equity Partners. Throughout his career, he has sat on and advised over 20 commercial, not-for-profit, and other boards, including as a former Chairman of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA), the UK trade body.
He is also involved in several projects relating to prisoner (and former prisoner) welfare, and he was formerly Chairman of The Hardman Trust charity.
In his new role, Lenon will work closely alongside Redington’s existing Board members: Sylvia Pozezanac, Zoe Taylor, Dawid Konotey-Ahulu, James Squires and Sandy Muirhead.
Lenon replaces previous Chair, Kathryn Purves, who steps back from the Redington Board following her appointment as CEO of Aztec, in order to ensure sufficient time to dedicate to this new role.
Commenting on the appointment, Redington CEO Sylvia Pozezanac said: “Hugh’s experience and purpose-driven approach made him the perfect candidate for Redington Chair. Having access to his wealth of knowledge will provide a real boost as we continue to invest in our people and technology, enter new markets, and deliver on our goal of helping make 100 million people financially secure.
“We want to thank Kathryn for the outstanding service and counsel she has provided during her time as Chair, and wish her all the very best in her new role.”
Lenon commented: “I couldn’t be more pleased to be joining the Redington Board at such an exciting point in the firm’s growth journey. Redington has built a strong reputation as an innovative, purpose-led business, and I’m eager to work alongside the rest of the Board as we look to deliver on our long-term strategy for the benefit of people and planet.”
