Helping clients meet their strategic objectives

As an independent investment consultancy, our sole purpose is to help clients meet their strategic objectives. That’s why we’ve built a business model that’s as unconflicted as possible; we don’t provide Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (‘OCIO’) or Fiduciary Management (‘FM’) solutions, which means we can offer truly independent advice on your arrangements, helping you deliver better outcomes for your end beneficiaries..

Our services

We apply a flexible and collaborative approach to working together in a way that suits you.
We offer four distinct services throughout the OCIO and FM journey and can support you on any or all of them.

Governance and mandate design

Our highly-tailored advice covers the full range of UK master trust models. We enable transfers to run smoothly, helping ensure fair outcomes for members and employers – keeping a firm control of costs.

Selecting the best-placed provider

We’ll advise you on selecting the OCIO or FM provider that’s best placed to deliver on your objectives. We can provide guidance on market-mapping, due diligence, RFPs, ‘pitch days’, and provider selection, as well as mandate and fee negotiations

Robust oversight of appointed providers

We’ll work with you and your OCIO or FM provider, providing fair challenge and ideas. We’ll liaise directly with your provider to give maximum peace of mind that you are receiving a high quality solution that delivers value-for-money.

Independent strategic advice

We’ll provide independent, strategic investment advice and input into decision-making, alongside providing oversight of your OCIO or FM provider. In OCIO arrangements, we act as the main strategic adviser, working collaboratively with your OCIO – giving you a ‘best of both worlds’ investment solution.

What makes us unique

Our independence and track record of innovation

Being unconflicted means we can work collaboratively with any OCIO or FM provider; and our track record of innovation means you can rest assured that we’ll bring you forward-thinking governance and investment solutions tailored to your scheme.

We have a large, dedicated manager research team and a market-leading sustainable investment and stewardship team. Our experience and expertise allow us to robustly challenge your OCIO or FM provider, bring new and innovative solutions to the table, and ensure that sustainable investment is integrated throughout our advice.

Our market-leading experience

We provide independent strategic advice and oversight to over £80bn of DB clients’ assets held with OCIO or FM providers and our team have experience working with 20+ OCIO and FM providers. We work with several schemes with complex and bespoke investment governance arrangements, including in-house investment teams; we understand the importance of tailoring your mandate for your specific needs.
