From July to August, we offer a paid six-week internship which allows you to gain some real-world experience and insight into building a career within investment consultancy while you’re still a student.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for you to get a taste of what we do while also contributing to actual client solutions. If you enjoy it and do a good job, you’ll be welcome back for another internship or invited to apply to our graduate programme.

Our internship programme

You can choose to apply for one of three areas:

Investment Consulting

In investment consulting, you’ll help to deliver investment advice to our clients that meet their objectives while remaining within their constraints. Your challenge is to translate complex concepts into succinct solutions.

Asset & Liability Management (ALM)

Love numbers? As an intern, you’ll work with other interns to complete a group project, introducing you to many of the concepts involved in modelling a pension scheme and advising clients.

Manager Research Team

Fund managers invest our clients’ money. It’ll be your job to make sure we pick the best ones. You’ll look at the universe of fund managers and analyse, interview and report which ones are best placed to deliver our clients’ goals.

Redington Interns

What qualifications you need

We look for undergraduates in their penultimate year of study (or year three for a four-year degree). For Investment Consulting and Manager Research, we hire across all degree disciplines. For Asset & Liability Management, we prefer students studying STEM subjects, as it’s pretty number intensive.

The internship at Redington exceeded all my expectations. The biggest takeaway for me was how approachable and friendly everyone was. Everyone I reached out to was happy to chat with me which made me feel extremely welcomed.

Our application process

Our application process is split into four stages. As you progress through each stage, our People team will be in touch to explain the next step

Step 1 - Online application and psychometric testing

Apply by sending us your CV and covering letter. You’ll then be invited to complete a couple of psychometric tests (verbal and numerical test). You can find more information about psychometric tests on our FAQ page.

Graduate application process stage 2

Stage two - Video interview

You’ll be invited to complete a video interview – this will involve answering general interview questions to find out a little more about you. If you are applying for ALM there will be some mathematical questions in there too!

Graduate application process stage 4

Step three - Assessment Centre

If you’re applying for our Investment Consulting or Manager Research roles, you’ll be invited to a half-day session to complete some group projects. For ALM roles, you’ll have a more focused interview looking at your quantitative skills and competencies.

Important dates to mark your calendar

Applications open: 1st September 2022 (applications are reviewed on a rolling basis so make sure to apply early)

Applications close: End of September

Assessment Centre: Assessment Centres to take place in October and November with hiring decisions made on the day.
