Our core corporate values encourage and support behaviour which is responsible, open and clear. In view of this, we are pleased to be a signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investing (UNPRI).
Over the last 10 years, interest in responsible investment has grown to become a priority issue for many institutional investors.
This interest is fuelled, in part, by the momentum generated by the UNPRI. This is a voluntary code, its goal is to understand the implications of sustainability for investors and encourage the incorporation of these issues into their investment decision making. (For more information, please go to http://www.unpri.org/.)
Our investment due diligence processes are highly risk aware and recognise the existence of these environmental, social and corporate governance factors, alongside a range of other risks.
We seek to incorporate an integrated risk assessment into all our investment decision-making processes.
The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has produced and oversees the UK Stewardship Code. The aim of the code is to enhance the quality of the engagement between institutional investors and companies and, therefore, to help improve long-term returns to shareholders.
We support the Stewardship Code and encourage our clients, where relevant, to comply with its guidelines. Further information can be found at www.frc.org.uk.
