How has your career developed since you joined Redington?
I joined Redington as a graduate in September 2012 and have been really pleased with my career development. Since joining, I have been given opportunities to take on real responsibility, working with some of Redington's most sophisticated and demanding clients from the outset. The success of these projects and the positive feedback from clients has been acknowledged by management and I have been progressed rapidly through the Redington career levels.
As well as getting heavily involved in Redington's core business, I have been encouraged to think independently. This first manifested itself in the creation of RedSTART, a financial education initiative that started out as the firm's CSR but is now a charity in its own right, having provided financial education to over 1600 young people since January 2013. Subsequently, I had the opportunity to work with Lord Hutton and a wide list of industry participants on a publication that considered the future of retirement saving. I have been encouraged to get involved in Redington's thought leadership from the outset, and have been quoted in both industry and national media.
How has Redington supported your career?
I am currently on secondment to one of Redington's clients. When this opportunity came about, Redington were happy to accommodate give me the chance to get real client side exposure.
Redington has also provided me with support in pursuing all relevant professional qualifications (FCA, CFA).
What makes you want to stay at Redington?
Over the last 12 months I have been granted options on Redington stock as part of the firm's LTIP, I feel this creates great alignment between the employees and shareholders in building alignment of interest to create shareholder value over the long term.
What do you see as your next role or career opportunity to Redington?
When I have returned from my secondment my focus will be on onboarding new clients, focusing on developing existing client relationships and developing new business ideas to diversify Redington's income streams.
